Why Recitals Matter
Recitals are one of the most valuable parts of music education—they bring together everything students have been working toward and offer meaningful benefits for everyone involved.
We encourage all students to participate in every recital opportunity. Here’s why:

Registration Windows:
October 6-31 - Early Bird Registration ($40 registration fee per student)
November 1-21 - Regular Registration ($45 registration fee per student)
Picture Day:
Saturday, November 8 at Rockin’ Robin Music Lessons
Saturday, November 15 at River Oaks Music School

Registration is required for participation in the recital.

Tickets
Tickets are required for all attendees age 5 and older, excluding performers.
Tickets will be available for pickup at the Will Call counter on the day of the event. Please note that tickets cannot be picked up in advance.
Each recital registration includes two complimentary tickets. Additional tickets may be requested by completing the form below or purchased at the Will Call counter on the day of the recital.

Picture Day
Once a year, we host Picture Day!
This special event is a wonderful way to celebrate and capture your child’s musical achievements. Think “school picture day,” but with a musical twist.

Dress Code
The recital is a special occasion, and we ask that everyone, including audience members, dress in formal attire. Think “clean and classy” - not just “cute.”
Examples of appropriate attire:
Suit or suit separates
Button-down collared shirt
Tie
Slacks or chinos
Dress (preferably linen or similar material)
Girls are not required to wear a dress; if wearing pants, they should be slacks or chinos
Examples of attire not appropriate for the recital:
Jeans (of any color)
Leggings worn as pants (leggings under a dress or skirt are fine)
Shorts
T-shirts
Mini skirts
Tennis shoes or sneakers (even designer or high-end styles)
If you’d like more ideas, try a quick online search for “formal clothes for boys” or “formal clothes for girls” for inspiration.
Etiquette
Recitals are meaningful milestones in each student’s musical journey. To help preserve the integrity of this special event, we kindly ask all attendees to follow these guidelines:
Dress appropriately for the occasion.
Stay for the entire program - every student deserves a full and supportive audience.
Remain quiet during each performance.
Silence all cell phones upon entering the hall.
No flash photography, please.
Applaud warmly before and after each performer.
If you have a baby or young child, please sit near the exit so you can step out if needed.
Be fully present. Please avoid using social media, checking email, or texting during the performance - this moment is worth your undivided attention.
Recital Day Procedure
Please read the following information carefully - this is how the recital will run.
Step 1 – Prepare
Before leaving home, double-check that you have everything you need - especially your music, just in case you’d like to bring it with you!

Step 2 – Arrive
Please arrive 15 minutes before your recital time.
Check in and pick up your tickets at the Will Call counter.
All audience members age 5 and older are required to have a ticket to enter. Additional tickets may be purchased at Will Call for $5 each.Students will then be called inside for backstage preparations.
Family members are kindly asked to remain outside until the doors open for seating.

Step 3 – Doors Open
An usher will let you know when the doors are open for the audience.
Once inside, please find a seat and get ready to enjoy the show!

Step 4 – Showtime!
When everyone is seated, the recital will begin.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy each student’s performance!

Step 5 – Certificate Ceremony & Refreshments
After all performances, students will receive their certificates during a brief ceremony.
When the ceremony concludes, everyone is welcome to enjoy light refreshments together.

Step 6 – Done!
